With over a century of development in these areas, along with a future-ready culture, certified quality management system and environmental agency approval, Lightfoot Defence is a stand-alone choice, trusted by militaries and highly-respected commercial partners across the globe to deliver the highest quality, advanced and bespoke refrigeration solutions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Role:<\/strong> The AWT is responsible to the Production Manager for completing all allocated tasks safely, within allocated timescales and to the required quality standard. It requires the post holder to co-ordinate all allocated resources and liaise effectively with internal co-workers. The AWT is to constantly seek, to improve his\/her skill of hand and electromechanical knowledge by learning from in house Senior Technicians and the Electrical Controls Engineer.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Day To Day Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Organising the materials, components, fastenings, and machine tools for company projects<\/li>\n<li>Occasional quality inspection of incoming parts (goods inwards) to ensure correct quantity received, part number\/description<\/li>\n<li>Quality inspection of outgoing machines (dispatch) both from a visual and functional perspective<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that all current company policy and procedures are understood and followed<\/li>\n<li>Required to follow all safe working practices<\/li>\n<li>Required to undertake manufacturing tasks and assist the throughput of work through the workshop under the supervision and direction of the Production Manager<\/li>\n<li>Maintain and be accountable for their own tools (Shadow board) ensuring they are fit for purpose and kept in good condition.<\/li>\n<li>The AWT is to seek advice and guidance for best practices and methods of manufacture, for inside and outside of the Aerospace Workshop<\/li>\n<li>Maintain a clean safe working environment<\/li>\n<li>Assist the Business Support Team by testing and preparing Mechanical spares for customers<\/li>\n<li>The post holder may be required to work out of hours\/overtime occasionally<\/li>\n<li>The post holder may be required to travel within and outside of the UK in support of company projects<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Essential Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Educated to BTEC Level 3 in an engineering discipline (preferably Marine or Aircraft engineering) or equivalent working experience<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Knowledge &amp; Skills:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The minimum requirement for the post of AWE would be an indentured engineering apprenticeship in mechanical engineering. Due to the specialised nature of the work this would have to be supported by 5 years\u2019 experience in a marine\/aerospace engineering capacity<\/li>\n<li>An understanding of the requirements of assembly, test, fault finding and rectification of complex electromechanical components and machines.
