What Matters

Quality, Innovation, Design & Environment

Whilst our core values of Quality, Innovation, Design and Environment have remained steadfast over the years, we are continually developing our systems and understanding of not just our customer’s needs, but those of the people and world around us.

Lightfoot is committed to providing a superior service, and has invested in a Quality Management System which has been approved by Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance to BS EN ISO 9001. Lightfoot ensures that this quality system adheres to a process of continuous improvement through a strict programme of internal audits.

“I wanted to write to thank you for the outstanding assistance we received from your company…Your engineer provided quite exceptional help….without your engineer’s expertise and sheer hard work we would not be in the fortunate position to continue our operations”

As Lightfoot Defence Limited forms part of the Refrigeration and Air conditioning industry within the United Kingdom, Directors and Managers ensure the highest priorities are given to the Environmental Aspects of the business and filter down to staff the importance of adhering to best environmental practices and all of our engineers are trained in the use and safe handling of refrigerant gases.

LDL hold a Permit (EPR/JB3103CD) from the Environment Agency for the storing and processing of refrigerants back to their Virgin specification. This prevents the harmful Global Warming Potential from some refrigerants being released and we have received awards for the ability for some of our customers to lower their carbon footprints by us processing their waste.

We recognise we have a duty of care to both customers and to the general public to manage our waste facility and particularly the hazardous waste refrigerants within and around our facility safely and without causing any unnecessary pollution to the environment or harm to human health.

The Permit provides an added environmental monitoring advantage to the business by ensuring a representative of the company is competent and qualified to manage hazardous waste operations on site.

We are committed to the development of refrigeration systems which are increasingly compatible with the aims of sustainable development and environmental care without compromising the value for money the services it provides to its customers.

Our supported Charity is AquAid.
With each purchase of an office water cooler bottle, an automatic donation is made to the Africa Trust. These funds are used to build ‘Elephant Pumps’ – a modified version of an age old Chinese rope pulley system. One such pump is currently being installed in Africa on our behalf and it will be a much needed source of clean and fresh drinking water for many. Our company’s name will be proudly displayed on our well and we look forward to adding some photos and letters of thanks from the villagers to our site in the near future.

To date AquAid have built over 5,000 such Elephant Pumps across parts of Zimbabwe, Malawi and Liberia; and have donated in excess of £10 million to charity.
