WORKSHOP APPRENTICE INTAKE 2023

We are now considering applications for our 2023 intake of apprentices. JOB PURPOSE:

The WA is responsible to the APM and is required to attend college on day release to study HVAC. Whilst in the workplace the WA will be required to provide support across all departments. In this role you will assist our engineering team with the development and maintenance of our products and systems. You will work under the guidance of experienced engineers and will be provided with training and mentorship to develop your skills and knowledge in the engineering field.

TRAINING & IN HOUSE DEVELOPMENT

  • Organise materials, components, fastenings, and machine tools as directed by superiors for company projects
  • Work with superiors to enable quality inspections of incoming parts (goods inwards) to ensure correct quantity received, part number/description
  • Work with superiors to check the quality inspection of outgoing machines (dispatch) both from a visual and functional perspective. Ensuring machines are packaged correctly for delivery to the customer
  • Regular training carried out to ensure that all current company policy and procedures are understood and followed
  • Help to maintain a clean safe working environment ensuring that he/she follow all safe working practices as guided by superiors
  • Required to undertake manufacturing tasks and assist throughout the workshop under the supervision and direction of the AWT and AWST
  • Maintain and be accountable for their own tools (Shadow board) ensuring they are fit for purpose and kept in good condition with training provided
  • In house training will be given to assist the Aerospace/Maritime Teams by testing and preparing Mechanical spares for customers
  • The post holder will occasionally be asked to travel within the UK in support of company projects

 

Qualifications/Education

  • Educated to GSCE level with a minimum of grade C / 4 in English, Maths & Science

 Skills

  • Enthusiastic and willing to help out wherever required
  • Good time keeping essential
  • Attention to Detail and problem solving skills developed over the apprenticeship
  • Good interpersonal communication and organisational skills and the ability to work effectively within a team with regular reviews
  • Be able to effectively communicate in both written and verbal format
  • Basic ICT skills (MS Office, Emails etc)
  • Able to work in a fast paced environment
  • Willingness to learn and demonstrate interest in CPD
