Refrigeration solutions for Military and Commercial Applications

The Lightfoot International Limited (LI) Refrigerant Transfer Unit (RTU) is a CE marked Refrigerant Transfer Unit which has been specifically designed to recover, transfer, or charge low pressure, high boiling point refrigerants such as R245fa and R1233zd (E), in a liquid or vapour state from any RACHP system. The RTU can be used to charge/transfer refrigerant between clean systems or in support of a full system recovery operation when coupled directly into a DVRU (the RTU MUST be connected in line with the DVRU to carry out a full system recovery). This coupling of the RTU and DVRU will enable the complete Deep Vacuum Recovery of the RACHP system, and other types of specified refrigerants. The unit can be operated by one refrigeration engineer.

After suffering twin compressor failure due to a fractured sea water condenser, we were called in to assess the system for repair and re-commissioning.

Futraheat approached Lightfoot in January 2024 requesting assistance with the charging and recovery of R-1233zd(E) from their Greensteam High Temperature Heat Pump system.

Our task was to manufacture and deliver 6 sets of 03 DASS Fill and Drain rigs for the BAE Systems export market, Qatar.

Lightfoot successfully bid for the contract to design and build a multi-room refrigeration plant for the Brazilian Navy flag ship aircraft carrier SAO PAOLO.

Lightfoot were contracted to supply a multi-room refrigeration system that included significant redundancy.

As part of our commitment to the Royal Navy for continued through life support of their installed equipment, Lightfoot was tasked with carrying out a detailed review of the air-conditioning and associated systems as the equipment OEM.

The UK Ministry of Defence required a new machine to replace an interim solution that had been in service for 15 years which was no longer fit for purpose. The design requirements of the machine meant it had to be capable of recovering, replenishing, vacuum dehydrating, and pressure testing the DASS system on their Typhoon aircraft.

Lightfoot International was required to modify the Apache Environmental Control System (ECS) Carts in order to make them compliant with current FGAS legislation.

Airbus Defence & Space (AD&S) GMBH required a series of tools and bespoke engineering jigs to be able to check the integrity of their Wing Tip Pod refrigeration pipework system.
