Build & Delivery of 27 LIDSS units to the UK Ministry of Defence

REQUIREMENTS

The UK Ministry of Defence required a new machine to replace an interim solution that had been in service for 15 years which was no longer fit for purpose. The design requirements of the machine meant it had to be capable of recovering, replenishing, vacuum dehydrating, and pressure testing the DASS system on their Typhoon aircraft.

What was delivered?

LDL designed and qualified the Lightfoot Integrated DASS Service Station (LIDSS). 27 LIDSS units have now successfully been delivered to the Royal Airforce (RAF) and are in service.

What were the benefits?

The UK MOD received the most advanced piece of ground support equipment available for servicing the Typhoon DASS system.

The RAF no longer need two machines to perform the various tasks as one LIDSS unit gives them the complete capability.
